Different types of music by different musical genres

When trying to look all the different types of music that are there, we must first of all understand - and acknowledge - that with all the science, research and study, we haven't yet been able to crack the mystery of origin of music let alone getting to know different types of music. Let's just say that it seems beyond the scope of human mind and knowledge to be able to perfectly categorize and define different types of music. First thing that makes it difficult to clearly decipher all the different types of music that are there is the fact that music isn't even a properly defined subject, it's actually a thought and more of a feeling. Then, music is omnifarious. Music is everywhere and there are just so many different types of music that it's practically impossible to clearly be able to define types of music. Music is everything from the blowing of breeze, to the walking of animals, to the sound of falling water, to the flying of birds and many more. The beat of human heart is music, and crying of a baby is music too. Trying to define all different types of music is like trying to astutely define all the colors of nature.

By now it should be understood that trying to categorize music into different styles of music is perhaps as hard as defining music and it's almost impossible. However, those who have learnt and practiced music have tried to categorize it in musical genres in many different ways. One thing that must be kept in mind is that labeling music by breaking it down into genres doesn't reflect on any specific race or particular culture, or even a set time period. It's an exhaustive list and is not possible to mention all at once. So some of the more prominent ones are, Metal, Punk, Rap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Pop, Hard Rock, Alternative, Experimental, Latin, Country, Disco, Funk, Classical, Blues, Progressive, Techno, Ska, Reggae, Black, Death, Screamo, Power Pop, Rock, Wizard Rock, Gospel, Comedy, Dance, Electric, Folk, Latin, Soul, Soundtrack, World, Vocal and many more!

Reflecting on some of the main types of music, the first that automatically comes to mind is classical music. Some people would ask why automatically classical? Well, apparently classical music is considered to be the most complex music form and that high music skills are required in it. Learning of classical music requires a person to learn the ragas and having to coordinate with various other musicians playing different other instruments at the same time. Also, in classical music, you have to learn to balance the complex and delicate relationship of the emotional flows. This genre of music requires its student to take proper training with thorough understanding and devotion.

Another one of the many different types of music is folk music. Folk is traditional music that's been passed on from one generation to the other in every different culture. Folk music mostly reflects the mood and emotions reflected by a common group of people through their music. Folk music has two subgenres in tribal and popular.

And then perhaps the most popular and electrifying music genre of them all is rock music. Rock music is mostly playing in conjunction with other music instruments such as guitar, bass and drums. Metal rock, progressive rock and hard rock are few subgenres of Rock music. It's said about rock that that in music it's hard to disagree with rock and roll and hence most all forms of rock music are immensely popular and successful.

Music is spiritually considered to be the worship of god. It's considered divine to enjoy and experience music. Music is perhaps the first and the most natural antidepressant provided to mankind by Mother Nature itself. And alongside being the excellent stress buster that music is, it's actually practically effective in treating chronic illnesses. Music is nature's therapy that can transform human woes into joys and soothes the mind, soul and body like nothing else. No wonder that in today's turbulent times, when people can't seem to get over their mental and physical problems, music therapy is considered one of the most effective alterative treatment measures. It has the ability to deal with and cure any mental, physical and psychological concern. Depending primarily on the effects that it brings about in a user, music therapy is broken into different types.

Varying by the different types of music therapy it can includes simple listening to music, singing, or even dancing. Various different types of music therapies are considered very effective in fighting problems such as mood swings and anger management. Music therapy is also considered and advised very effective particularly for people suffering from insomnia as the soothing and relaxing power of music first relaxes the mind of listener and then puts them to sleep.
